… travel along Palatine Rd. (B5167) into Northenden and turn into Church Road at the traffic lights between the NatWest and Barclay’s Banks, opposite Tesco’s; after 250 metres fork left into Ford Lane at the top of Church Rd., as it swings right into Royle Green Rd. The Church is 75 metres ahead of you on the right (you should by this point see the church tower which is usually floodlit at night)
… travel along Longley Lane, and turn into Royle Green Rd. almost opposite a BP garage; continue for 750 metres and then turn sharp right into Ford Lane immediately after a pub called “The Spread Eagle” on your right.
… from the M60 (clockwise from Stockport direction) exit at J 4 onto the M56, and come off it at its J 2 (Wythenshawe, Altrincham); take the third exit off the roundabout (Sharston Rd., graced with a Municipal sculpture of a windsurfing sail!); continue for 600 metres along Sharston Road then turn left at the
T-junction into Longley Lane … (see above)
… from the South on the M56 (Cheshire) keep straight on towards Manchester at J 3 and come off at the 2nd exit (B5166 - Northenden, Sale Moor). At the traffic lights turn right into Palatine Rd. … (see above)
… from the M60 (anti-clockwise from the West and North) come off at J 5 (Manchester Airport, & M56), keep to the left hand lane and immediately come off onto the B 5166 (Northenden, Sale Moor), and turn Left at the traffic lights into Palatine Rd. … (see above)

Be aware that you cannot reach St. Wilfrid’s Church from Didsbury via Ford Lane across the river Mersey at Simon’s Bridge except on foot or bicycle along part of the Trans Pennine Trail .
St. Wilfrid’s Church is on Ford Lane, off the junction of Royle Green Road and Church Road, in Northenden, Manchester.
It is situated approximately 6½ miles south of Manchester city centre, on the south side of the River Mersey, and within 3 miles of Manchester International Airport.

Bus services operate to Northenden from Manchester city centre (41,43,105), Altrincham (370), Sale (41), Stockport (370) and the airport (43,105). The 43 and 105 operated by Stagecoach pass the closest to the church with a bus stop on Royle Green Road by the end of Ford Lane.
Nearest train station is Gatley (1½ miles). Nearest Metrolink tram station is at Benchill (1.5 miles) .
